Welcome to the Family Tree of Adam Matthew Blakey
This website was set up in 2002 to record the family members of Adam Matthew Blakey. Both sets of Adam's grandparents were tracing their relevant families and it seemed an ideal opportunity to amalgamate and preserve the information gathered to date.
The research on some sides of the family is still in its infancy, other sides have quickly been traced back to the 1700's. Through the use of the internet, it was quickly discovered that other genealogists were tracing some parts of the same family, hence some of the work had already been done. A lot of the research can be performed locally, as most families either originated or lived in Northumberland.
As the years progress, as well as trying to trace as many ancestors as we can, we also hope to trace living relatives, whether they are 6 x removed or not ! To date, we have had contact from extended family who share the same 3 x great grandfather. Some have remained in the North East, others have ventured further a field.
It is also planned to trace the ancestral members of the family from their birth, to their marriage, throughout all the census returns and to their death.
